Josh Kerns

Josh Kerns is a nationally renowned Emmy, Writers Guild of America and four-time Edward R. Murrow award-winning journalist and strategic communications specialist. He is the founder of Cypress Point Strategic, a leading provider of podcasting, marketing communications and other services for numerous clients from Microsoft to the University of Washington School of Medicine to a variety of startups.

He is best known for his award-winning work in journalism as an anchor, reporter and host at KIRO Radio in Seattle. A regular contributor to the CBS Radio Network, he previously oversaw a national bureau for Potomac Radio in Washington, DC, covering the US Congress, White House, Supreme Court and Federal agencies for CBS Radio and other national networks. He also served as a television reporter for a number of years for KOMO TV in Seattle and regularly contributed live and produced coverage to ABC News.

Josh is also a proven public relations practitioner with extensive experience conceiving, creating and executing successful strategic communications campaigns for global PR agencies including Weber Shandwick, Edelman and WE Communications. He has worked extensively with C-level executives and other top leaders such as Bill Gates and Paul Allen for numerous Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Vulcan, Boeing, Victoria’s Secret and many others. He has earned global media coverage for his clients on projects ranging from the launch of Microsoft Windows and Xbox to the Victoria’s Secret runway show in New York.

Josh is a leading podcast host and producer with a number of projects for Microsoft, University of Washington Medicine, the University of Washington Medical School Center for Leadership in Medical Education and others.

Josh serves as a member of the board for the non-profit Nick of Time Foundation.

Josh has a master’s degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University in Washington.
